Water Supply Evaluation, Licensing & Regulatory Compliance

Connate Water’s hydrogeological services include the sourcing, evaluation, design and report preparation for licensing of groundwater or surface water resources within Western Canada.  This includes 24 to 72 hour constant-rate aquifer testing for hydraulic fracturing, EOR or industrial groundwater usage.  Within a project area, viable groundwater sources may include freshwater (<4,000 mg/L Total Dissolved Solids), saline groundwater (>4,000 mg/L Total Dissolved Solids) and wastewater recycling options.

Temporary Diversion Licence (TDL) and Multi-Year Term Licensing

Within Alberta, diversion of groundwater in quantities greater than 3,650 m³ requires an active Temporary Diversion Licence (TDL) or Term Licence.  Prior to an AER approval, a detailed hydrogeological report must be completed and stamped by a registered professional geoscientist (P.Geo.).  Connate Water is well versed in the preparation and submission of TDLs or Multi-Year Term Licence Applications within Western Canada.
